With just a week to go until The Meetings Show 2020 kicks off, we share six reasons why you should sign up to attend if you haven’t already…
1. The virtual experience
The Meetings Show, which takes place on 19-21 October, says it has partnered with a formidable virtual platform to ensure it won’t just be another virtual event in a virtual calendar. User experience is at the heart of this year’s show, so all pre-qualified buyers will be able to: explore exhibitor recommendations based on their preferences and AI matchmaking; hold valuable one-to-one meetings with exhibitors; book into and attend inspirational live and on-demand education sessions; interact network with their peers using instant chat and video calls and exchange contact details with other attendees.
2. Tour the world from the comfort of your desk
Hundreds of exhibitors – from UK and international destinations, to destination management companies, event venues, hotels and technology suppliers – will be available to connect in one-to-one online meetings with buyers. Visit Britain, London & Partners, Liverpool City Council, Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, Penang Convention Bureau, Las Vegas, Conventions Malta and MacDonald Hotels are just some of the returning exhibitors, with new exhibitors for 2020 including Hong Kong Tourism Board, Crowne Plaza Newcastle, Jumeirah Carlton Tower, University of Northumbria and Monaco Tourist Authority to name but a few. Destinations will brief buyers of recent developments in their regions and discuss how they and their venues and experiences can meet their future meetings, events and incentives needs.
3. Keep your tech knowledge up to date
In line with growing interest in hybrid and virtual events and demand for technology to support safe and successful events, there will be a strong presence from technology suppliers at this year’s show. Online event management software companies Cvent, Shocklogic and EventMobi will be showcasing their products and services along with many others.
4. Inspiring content
This year’s education programme features a fantastic global line up of expert speakers aimed at helping event professionals navigate these challenging times, including head keynote Andy King of Fyre Festival. In the must-watch, interactive session on Wednesday 21 October, King will reveal how his life changed following the airing of the Fyre Festival documentary in 2019, give valuable tips on how to turn negatives into positives, offer insight into running sustainable events, and more. Other expert speakers will cover a range of pertinent themes over the three days, such as sustainability and creative thinking and provide insight on future trends, effective use of technology, measuring ROI and future event design. Available for all attendees, sessions will be available live and on-demand, so you can watch them when it suits you.
5. Party time
Right now, it has never been more important to boost team morale, so The Meetings Show is hosting an online networking party on Wednesday 21 October at 4-5pm. Join in and unwind with entertainers who have toured and recorded with the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Rick Astley and The Killers! Connect and compete for rockstar glory in SongDivision’s Rock & Roll Game Show, and even help to create a completely original song.
6. TMS TV
And if all that wasn’t enough, TMS TV will be running throughout the entire event. Check out the homepage of the virtual platform for exclusive speaker and exhibitor interviews, industry tips, discussions, insights and much more!
